About The Position

The Slitter Helper assists the Slitter Machine operator in operating the slitter, with safety as the primary objective and in accordance with established GMP, safety, and company procedures and policies. The role helps maintain production levels and product quality by verifying job materials, inspecting finished rolls, palletizing products, completing accurate paperwork and computer entries, and keeping the work area clean and orderly. The position also involves safely moving materials and finished products using equipment such as pallet jacks and hoists. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with second-shift differential pay. This is a full-time position at Classic Packaging Company’s location in Pfafftown, North Carolina.

Requirements

Ability to perform essential duties accurately and in time to meet company deadlines.
Ability to read and comprehend production orders.

Ability to learn new skills and apply them across a range of applications.
Good judgment and communication skills.
Ability to stand for an entire work shift, excluding breaks.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Reliable ability to commute to or relocate to Pfafftown, NC 27040.

Responsibilities

Assist the Slitter Machine operator in operating the slitter.
Maintain production levels and product quality while operating equipment safely.
Check machine safety functions at the beginning of each shift.
Check product quality each time the machine restarts.
Complete all paperwork and computer entries accurately.
Verify that the correct materials are being used for each job.
Check the quality of rolls as they finish on the slitter and palletize them.
Keep the Slitter area clean and orderly.
Comply with all safety requirements and perform duties safely and efficiently.
Safely operate material-moving equipment, including pallet jacks and hoists, to transport and lift materials and finished products.
Perform other job duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.
