About The Position

Pivotal Health is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) to join our growing sleep services team in Poughkeepsie, NY. This full-time night position offers an excellent work-life balance with just 3-4 shifts per week (8:00 PM - 6:00 AM), a favorable 3:1 patient-to-technologist ratio, and additional earning opportunities through incentive pay. Requirements

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
  • Current New York State authorization/licensure requirements as applicable.
  • Completion of an accredited Polysomnography Program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proof of required immunizations.

Nice To Haves

  • New York PSG License.
  • Current CRT or RRT/RT credential.
  • Experience with attended overnight sleep studies and PAP titrations.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, review, and analyze patient medical and sleep histories.
  • Identify and address patient-specific needs, including physical, emotional, and medical considerations.
  • Explain testing procedures and answer patient questions to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Complete and verify all required documentation.
  • Prepare, calibrate, and troubleshoot sleep testing equipment.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted industry standards.
  • Verify video monitoring systems and equipment functionality.
  • Conduct physiologic calibrations and PAP mask fittings.
  • Establish baseline patient measurements and document findings.
  • Perform polysomnographic data acquisition and monitoring throughout the study.
  • Ensure signal integrity and make real-time adjustments when necessary.
  • Follow established protocols for: PAP titration studies, Oxygen titration, MSLT, MWT, Parasomnia studies, Other specialized sleep testing procedures.
  • Accurately document patient observations, sleep stages, clinical events, and significant study findings.
  • Record pressure changes, oxygen saturation levels, respiratory events, heart rate, body position changes, and other relevant data.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols and quality standards to support accurate scoring and interpretation.
