About The Position
A sleep lab technician works under physician supervision to prepare patients, operate monitoring equipment, and record physiological data during overnight or daytime diagnostic testing for conditions like sleep apnea.
Requirements
- CPSGT or RPSGT
- RRT
- BLS/CPR
- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a specialized polysomnography program is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Explain testing steps, review medical history, and attach sensors (EEG, EKG, and breathing monitors).
- Watch vital signs and sleep patterns in real-time; apply therapies like CPAP or BiPAP when needed.
- Calibrate testing devices, troubleshoot technical problems, and record accurate clinical data.
- Disconnect patients, score sleep records, and compile reports for physician review.
