About The Position

Sleep Direct Support Professional position at Devereux New York, making a positive difference in the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. This role involves working with dedicated professionals and offers paid hours while sleeping overnight at the assigned location (anticipating an average of seven hours of sleep per night), while being responsive to resident needs. During awake hours, the Sleep DSP will assist individuals with daily activities, including health and personal management, achieving personal goals, and daily household living. The role also includes maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program individuals while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors. Devereux New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. The position is located in Claverack, NY.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED required.
One year experience preferred.
Have a Valid NY Driver's License.
Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.
Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
Consideration will be given for a candidate without a High School diploma if enrolled in a GED program.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree preferred.

Responsibilities
