About The Position

Devereux New York is seeking dedicated professionals to join their team as Sleep Direct Support Professionals (DSP). This role involves working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. The position is located in Germantown, NY, and allows the DSP to sleep overnight at the assigned location, anticipating approximately seven hours of sleep per night, while remaining available to respond to resident needs. During awake hours, the Sleep DSP will assist individuals with daily activities such as health and personal management, achieving personal goals, and household living. The role also requires maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment that addresses the physical, emotional, and personal needs of the residents, aiming to improve functioning and minimize interfering behaviors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Consideration will be given for a candidate without a High School diploma if enrolled in a GED program.
• Have a Valid NY Driver's License.
• Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.
• Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
• Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization.
• Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.

Responsibilities
