About The Position

This position supports Baylor University’s mission by providing technical and systems support for the Undergraduate Admissions-administered instances of Technolutions Slate. Depending on the level hired, the role configures and maintains Slate, develops data solutions and portals, supports integrations, reporting, and data governance, and partners with Enrollment Management stakeholders to deliver solutions supporting recruitment and retention goals. The role may be hired at the Junior Slate Systems Analyst, Slate Systems Analyst, or Senior Slate Systems Analyst level based on skills and experience. Junior analysts provide developing technical and operational support while building independence through progressively more complex assignments. Slate Systems Analysts independently handle complex systems analysis, Slate configuration, data solutions, portals, integrations, reporting, and data-governance work. Senior analysts provide advanced administration and development, lead complex technical projects, and serve as technical leaders and project leads while remaining individual contributors with no direct supervisory responsibilities. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Baylor may consider additional experience or education in lieu of one another.

Requirements

Junior Slate Systems Analyst: Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience required.
Slate Systems Analyst: Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience required.
Senior Slate Systems Analyst: Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience required.
Ability to comply with University policies and maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Junior Slate Systems Analyst: Two years of relevant experience preferred.
Slate Systems Analyst: Five years of relevant experience preferred.
Senior Slate Systems Analyst: Seven years of relevant experience preferred.
Additional experience or education may be considered in lieu of one another.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and administer Slate components such as forms, events, workflows, rules, queries, and retention policies.
Troubleshoot system issues, complete updates, test changes, document work, and address complex or high-impact concerns.
Build and maintain data-focused Slate solutions using tools such as Configurable Joins, exports, and source formats; validate accuracy and account for data standards and downstream impacts.
Partner with Enrollment Management units and other stakeholders to understand business needs and design and deliver Slate solutions supporting recruitment and retention goals.
Gather requirements, test solutions, document work, provide post-launch support, and independently manage defined projects as appropriate to the role level.
Maintain, test, monitor, and troubleshoot Slate integrations, APIs, web services, scheduled data movement, and inter-system processes in collaboration with IT and campus partners.
Develop and maintain Slate portals and other technical solutions, including user-specific information and self-service functionality.
Use SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies to develop Slate functionality and portals.
Ensure Slate solutions and data processes comply with data-governance requirements and data-collection standards.
Coordinate with technical, data, research, marketing, and institutional partners on data transfers, data structures, security, reporting implications, and system dependencies.
Lead complex portal and CRM projects from discovery and scoping through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Provide technical guidance or mentoring to other analysts when appropriate at the senior level.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
