The Westin Tempe is looking for a Part-Time Bartender to join their team at the Skysill Pool and Lounge. This role involves servicing food and beverages to guests around the beautiful rooftop pool and cabanas in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner, aiming for an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. Requirements
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
- Sufficient strength to lift, load, and transport product weighing up to 50 lb. from storage facility to bar.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
- Remain professional at all times, and treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances.
- Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.
- Adaptable to change in work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
- Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever unsure.
- Adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
Responsibilities
- Servicing food and beverages to guests around the rooftop pool and cabanas.
- Serving beverages and food to the guests while answering any menu related questions.
- Prepares drinks for servers.
- Ensures a high level of hospitality.
- Handles cashier duties for the lounge.
