The Westin Tempe is looking for a PT - Bartender for Sushi by Bou to join our

A Bartender for Sushi by Bou takes part in servicing our guests around our
beautiful Hotel and you'll be part of a great team of helpful people who are
passionate about delivering exceptional service. This task is to be handled in a
friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely
high level of guest satisfaction.

A Bartender for Sushi by Bou creates a welcoming and memorable guest experience
by preparing and serving beverages promptly and courteously in a fast-paced,
upscale setting, while consistently maintaining the standards of excellence set
by Sushi by Bou, Crescent Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott International.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
• Sufficient strength to lift, load, and transport product weighing up to 50 lb. from storage facility to bar.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
• Previous experience required including cash handling and customer service
• Proven bartending experience, preferably in fine dining or upscale hospitality
• Knowledge of cocktails, wine, and spirits, with the ability to make recommendations
• Ability to obtain both Maricopa Health Card (Food Handlers Card) and Alcohol Certificate - required
