Shine Bright.  A Culinary Professional Artist for Sushi by Bou takes part in servicing our guests around our beautiful Hotel and you'll be part of a great team of helpful people who are passionate about delivering exceptional service. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. A Culinary Professional Artist for Sushi by Bou specializes in the preparation of traditional and modern sushi dishes. They are responsible for selecting high-quality ingredients, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering visually appealing and flavorful presentations.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Proven experience as a Sushi Cook or in a similar role along with knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
  • Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
  • Creativity and passion for Japanese cuisine.
  • Standing for prolonged periods and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment including handling raw fish and sharp tools.
  • Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
  • Valid Maricopa County Food Handler’s Card

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Certification in food handling/safety is a plus.
  • Experience working in a Japanese restaurant is highly desirable.
