About The Position

Perform a variety of operations to assemble and upholster portions of fully upholstered furniture. Move frame assembly from roller conveyor to upholstery lift and perform assigned duties using air stapling equipment, hand tools, templates, and measuring devices. Work on a variety of models to shape and form the upholstery for a specific appearance, fit and trim.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum one year experience
Ability to read and follow directions (verbal and written)
Basic math skills: counting adding, subtracting
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Must have hand to eye coordination
Must be organized and able to multi-task
Must be able to complete job duties in timely manner
Ability to pay close attention to details
Excellent attendance record
Flexible to changing work stations as business dictates
Work and make decisions with minimum supervision

Responsibilities

Use transfer cart to move assembled frame from conveyor to upholstery lift.
Staple filler material (foam) to the frame using a pneumatic staple gun.
Use scissors to cut excessive filler material from the frame.
Attach fabric/leather to the frame using a pneumatic staple gun, pulling and stretching the material to ensure desired fit.
Smooth out and tuck seams in the upholstered product using a regulator (ice pick) for a crisp finished appearance.
Trim excessive fabric off around finished wood portions of the frame with a box cutter (razor blade).
Occasionally lift frames off the assembly conveyor for repairs.
