About The Position

MEI Auto Finance is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Skip Tracer to help locate customers with auto loans that are 91 or more days delinquent. The role uses investigative research, skip tracing tools, databases, social media, public records, and other data sources to gather accurate, actionable information in support of vehicle recovery efforts. The position calls for prior backend collections experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and productivity.

The Skip Tracer works with third-party repossession agents and internal collections staff, documents findings in the collections management system, monitors accounts in the skip queue, and recommends next actions based on trace results and risk evaluation. The role is located in Arlington, Texas, and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with every other Saturday. Compensation is $20 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of backend skip tracing collections experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient knowledge of the FDCPA.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently under high pressure.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Goal-oriented and able to receive, retain, and implement feedback effectively.
• Must pass a background check and be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and locate customers with auto loans that are 91 or more days delinquent.
• Use skip tracing tools, databases, social media, public records, and other data sources to gather accurate, actionable information.
• Communicate regularly with third-party repossession agents and provide real-time updates on leads, addresses, and vehicle locations.
• Document skip tracing efforts, findings, and updates accurately and promptly in the collections management system.
• Collaborate with internal collections staff to align skip tracing strategies with recovery efforts.
• Monitor accounts in the skip queue and recommend next actions based on trace results and risk evaluation.
• Follow federal and state compliance requirements, including the FDCPA, and company policies.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly individual and departmental goals.
