About The Position

The Behavioral Health Skills Trainer provides strengths-based, trauma-informed support to youth and families involved in foster care, adoption, or guardianship. Working with youth between the ages 3–18, the Skills Trainer helps children and adolescents develop social, emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills that promote stability, resilience, and success in home, school, and community settings. The Skills Trainer maintains a small caseload to ensure individualized support and works collaboratively with caregivers, treatment providers, schools, and community partners to coordinate services and promote positive outcomes for youth and families. Skills training is provided during times identified as most relevant to the youth and family.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience (additional education may substitute for years of experience)
Valid driver’s license
Clean driving record
Auto insurance
Satisfactory results of fingerprinting and background checks

Nice To Haves

CPR/First Aid certification (provided by agency)
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification (provided by agency)
Tier 1 Collaborative Problem Solving certification (provided by agency)
