About The Position
DABS, Inc. provides skills training and supported living services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Skills Instructors work directly with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build skills for employment, volunteer work, post-secondary education, community participation, and greater independence. The role involves providing person-centered instruction in community settings and working collaboratively with other professionals to support the individuals served.
Requirements
- Commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
- Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background checks.
- CPR certification and a recent TB test; assistance obtaining both may be available.

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
- Help individuals access community resources, plan engaging activities, and strengthen their skills.
- Take individuals on community outings for appointments, errands, or recreation.
- Track and document progress through accurate and concise case notes.
- Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to provide comprehensive support.
