About The Position

Ergon Associated Asphalt Partners is seeking a full-time Skilled Tradesman for their Roanoke, VA facility. This role involves working with a tight-knit team to solve everyday issues in producing quality asphalt binder. The company is family-owned with locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico, valuing employee learning and contribution while maintaining a small company feel. The Skilled Tradesman is a highly skilled professional specializing in one or more trade professions, responsible for preventative maintenance, general maintenance, and repair functions within the terminal. This position collaborates closely with terminal operators and leadership to ensure facilities and equipment are always adequately maintained and in proper working order. The role also involves interfacing with customers, vendors, and other company employees, including working with outside vendors for necessary third-party repairs.

Responsibilities

Perform all Terminal Operator I and Terminal Operator II functions proficiently.
Perform advanced functions as required by terminal including PMA, Emulsion, and Injecting Concentrate.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all tanks and equipment.
Maintain parts inventory for repairs and maintenance.
Order required parts and equipment needed for general maintenance and repair.
Perform major maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment including rebuilding pumps.
Assist with development and execution of project work.
Train terminal operators on performing maintenance inspections and general maintenance tasks.
Perform other duties as required by the terminal Manager.
