About The Position

Ergon Associated Asphalt Partners is seeking a full-time Skilled Tradesman for their Roanoke, VA facility. This role involves working with a tight-knit team to solve everyday issues in producing quality asphalt binder. The company is family-owned with locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico, valuing employee learning and contribution while maintaining a small company feel. The ideal candidate will possess organization, time management, problem-solving, and housekeeping skills, and should be eager to learn new skills and contribute to making the facility a better place to work. A Skilled Tradesman is a highly skilled professional specializing in one or more specific trade professions, providing preventative maintenance, general maintenance, and repair functions within the terminal location. This position works closely with terminal operators and leadership to ensure facilities and equipment are adequately maintained and in proper working order. The position reports to the Terminal or Maintenance Manager and will interface with all terminal employees, customers, vendors, and other company employees, including outside vendors for third-party maintenance repairs.

Responsibilities

Able to perform all the Terminal Operator I and Terminal Operator II functions proficiently.
Ability to perform advanced functions as required by terminal including PMA, Emulsion, and Injecting Concentrate.
Developing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules for all tanks and equipment.
Maintaining parts inventory for repairs and maintenance.
Ordering required parts and equipment needed for general maintenance and repair.
Able to perform major maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment including rebuilding pumps.
Assist with development and execution of project work.
Train terminal operators on performing maintenance inspections and general maintenance tasks.
Other duties as required by the terminal Manager.
