About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), one of twenty campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock. UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs. This position is within the Building Maintenance Department.

Requirements

Ability to read and write with comprehension.
Five years of experience as a journeyman painter.
Knowledgeable in the application of paint products and their proper uses.
Proficient in the use of all tools, including spray equipment commonly used in the painting profession.
Able to work at height off ladders and scaffolds.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other building plans.
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Receive work orders from supervisor to perform a variety of painting projects or repairs.
Provide a list of materials for projects from a review of building blueprints.
Finish sheetrock in preparation for painting.
Lay out and prepare athletic fields for competition using a paint striping machine.
Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
May require occasional after hour and weekend work.
