About The Position

The Skilled Tradesman Generalist is responsible for performing general maintenance work within his/her assigned residence hall. These duties require basic knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, etc. Other duties as assigned. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is event/weather essential.

Requirements

Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
Valid Driver’s License
At least two years of general building maintenance experience including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or painting
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds waist high
Ability to climb stairs daily
Ability to operate basic hand tools
Ability to communicate effectively with others in the workplace
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

At least six years of general building maintenance experience including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or painting

Responsibilities

Other duties as assigned.
