The Skilled Trades Worker performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks and operations involved in the maintenance, repair, alteration and/or basic construction of District buildings, equipment and facilities. The Skilled Trades Worker works closely with support staff, specific staff and outside organizations to perform the more specialized and complex duties related to a specific skilled trade(s) area as assigned. This role involves performing specialized skilled trades work to service specific maintenance needs of all District facilities as assigned, including carpentry, electrical, locksmith, HVAC, plumbing and/or painting. The position also includes general preventative maintenance tasks, operating and repairing equipment, reading blueprints, estimating time and materials, maintaining logs, ordering parts, and assisting other Skilled Trades Workers.
