About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable TIG Welder to join our team on 1st Shift. This position works within our fabrication and machining shop and plays an important role in producing high-quality metal components and assemblies. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, works safely and efficiently, and is comfortable working from blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions. In this role, you will utilize TIG welding and other welding methods to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components to meet production and quality standards. Work may involve a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized metals. Candidates should have experience with common welding processes such as GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW, and SAW, along with the ability to accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings. We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of fabrication practices, and a commitment to producing quality work in a team-oriented environment. Previous welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting is preferred, and welding certifications are considered a plus.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of TIG welding 16-gauge to 1/4-inch stainless steel and aluminum
  • Must successfully complete a weld test required before employment
  • Ability to weld in either GTAW
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in an industrial shop setting
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, protractors, compasses, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess knowledge of metal plate types (steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanized, etc.) sizes, and shapes (beams, channels, angles, pipe, flat bar, etc.) preferred
  • Welding certifications are considered a plus
  • Previous welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • TIG weld stainless steel, aluminum, and other various metals
  • Safely and efficiently operate assigned equipment
  • Read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and quality assurance (QA) standards per job requirements
  • Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using welding equipment
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Perform quality checks during production to ensure parts/pieces meet tolerance requirements
