About The Position

Skilled Ski Patrol is a seasonal mountain safety role focused on protecting staff and guests and delivering a safe, positive resort experience. Ski Patrol members respond to guest injuries and illnesses, provide first aid, assist with mountain evacuations, maintain trail safety, and help ensure guests are off the mountain at closing. The position requires strong skiing ability across varied terrain and winter conditions, dependability, calmness during emergencies, and effective teamwork and guest service.

Requirements

Pass the resort Ski Patrol-sponsored ski test and be capable of skiing all types of terrain under all weather conditions.
Communicate fluently in English.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have excellent guest service skills.
Work well in a team environment.
Be able to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment.
Complete additional background check clearances required by the State of Pennsylvania before beginning work.

Responsibilities

Supervise and promote guest safety across varied terrain and changing winter weather conditions.
Assist injured or ill guests on the mountain and administer first aid.
Transport injured guests off the mountain using a toboggan or support air-lift operations.
Maintain trails by identifying hazards, setting up closures and safety materials, and addressing other impacts from the resort environment.
Transport supplies and heavy equipment to areas of need on skis or a snowboard.
Perform end-of-day closing procedures to ensure all guests are safely off the mountain.
Enforce the Skier Responsibility Code and resort policies.
Assist with chairlift and guest evacuations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
