About The Position

Carlex is seeking a Skilled Machine Operator to work a 12-hour night shift on a 3-2-2-3 schedule. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience as a Machine Operator and possess strong attendance, a willingness to learn, and excellent problem-solving skills. This role involves operating multiple machines, performing quality checks, production reporting, and maintaining a clean work environment. The operator must be able to handle glass safely, work in a fast-paced environment, and adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and understanding lockouts and E-stops.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 2+ years' operator experience.
Ability to learn and follow procedures while working safely in a manufacturing environment.
Work a 12-hour shift on a rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule and work overtime as needed.
Able to lift 45-50 lbs regularly and/or occasionally able to walk 5-10 feet while carrying a 45-50 lb. windshield.
Able to raise objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
Repetitive movements of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Repetitive twisting and bending of upper & lower body.
Work in extreme heat and humidity.
Regular and predictable attendance required.
Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities.
Overtime may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays.
Able to stand on concrete for extended periods of time.
Some type of computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow work instructions and control plans.
Communicate with other operators to assure a steady product flow.
Operate multiple machines along with other key tasks such as changeovers.
Perform regular checks such as part quality, gaging, sag mapping, xenon light distortion check, etc.
Perform production reporting through GMAPS.
Maintain an organized clean work environment (5S).
Perform other departmental job duties when directed by supervision.
Perform required PPE, location and purpose of all lock outs and E-stops.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment keeping the process running.
Handle all types of glass safely.
