The Skilled Labourer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of construction projects by performing tasks such as site preparation, debris removal, and providing support to other team members. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, a willingness to learn, physical endurance, and a positive, responsible attitude.

Requirements

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
Certification in First Aid or Safety an asset.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with own reliable transportation.
Able to perform heavy lifting and other manual labour.
Able to operate and maintain various tools and equipment to complete tasks.
Able to operate a skid steer and/or telehandler.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A team player who is willing to help as needed to get the job done.
Willing and able to take, understand, and follow directions.
Strong work ethic, positive team player, high standards, and personal accountability.
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour, lift heavy objects, bend, crouch, and/or kneel for long periods of time throughout the day.
Good manual dexterity.
Desire to continually learn and improve.
Able to work outside in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment in all weather conditions.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Works well with minimal supervision while maintaining a high-quality product.
Commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years construction experience preferred.
General understanding of construction practices.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

Pre, mid, and post construction clean-up.
Performing any manual labour including clean-up, sweeping, stacking, and moving materials.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Flatwork and forming.
Follow all safety policies and procedures on the job site, and report violations to the Site Superintendent.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project deadlines are met.
Assist carpenters and other skilled tradespeople.
Daily site maintenance.
Other duties as required.
