The Skilled Labourer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of construction projects by performing tasks such as site preparation, debris removal, and providing support to other team members. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, a willingness to learn, physical endurance, and a positive, responsible attitude.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in First Aid or Safety an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with own reliable transportation.
  • Able to perform heavy lifting and other manual labour.
  • Able to operate and maintain various tools and equipment to complete tasks.
  • Able to operate a skid steer and/or telehandler.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A team player who is willing to help as needed to get the job done.
  • Willing and able to take, understand, and follow directions.
  • Strong work ethic, positive team player, high standards, and personal accountability.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour, lift heavy objects, bend, crouch, and/or kneel for long periods of time throughout the day.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Desire to continually learn and improve.
  • Able to work outside in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment in all weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Works well with minimal supervision while maintaining a high-quality product.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Punctual, reliable, self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years construction experience preferred.
  • General understanding of construction practices.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Pre, mid, and post construction clean-up.
  • Performing any manual labour including clean-up, sweeping, stacking, and moving materials.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Flatwork and forming.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures on the job site, and report violations to the Site Superintendent.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Assist carpenters and other skilled tradespeople.
  • Daily site maintenance.
  • Other duties as required.
