About The Position

As a Skilled Laborer at SCGC, this role plays a crucial part in assembling and building components. Primary responsibilities include handling materials, operating equipment, and using small tools to cut, shape, and join materials. This position demands physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior workers.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Proficiency in using tape measure, levels, and other measuring devices.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic machinery and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cut, shape, and bend materials, such as metals, using tools like saws, drills, oxy-acetylene torches, and grinders.
• Assist in assembling a variety of parts and structures based on blueprints, sketches, and drawings.
• Assist in welding and joining parts together to create a complete product.
• Maintain cleanliness in the work areas, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials.
• Prepare work areas, load and unload materials and equipment, and ensure all necessary tools and materials are ready for use.
• Assist in monitoring and ensuring product quality, reporting any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Work effectively as part of a team to meet goals and deadlines.
• Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
