Under general supervision, the Skilled Cellar Technician efficiently performs skilled crush and wine processing duties, operates general and complex winery equipment, trains less skilled employees, keeps accurate records and ensures work procedures are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves performing all technical duties defined under the General Technician level, operating complex winery equipment such as filtration and clarifying equipment, chillers and presses, and performing simple cellar tasks like lees and oak removal inside confined spaces (tanks). The technician will also assist general technicians, maintain a safe and organized work area, use downtime productively, support lean initiatives, and provide training to less experienced employees.
