About The Position

Instructs skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities, helping them improve their skills in a fun and effective learning environment. This part-time seasonal position runs from mid-December through the end of March. Applicants must attend the instructor training course, which starts on November 16th, and successfully complete instructor training. Employees may occasionally perform duties outside their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete the instructor training course.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Patience and a love of the outdoors and teaching.
• Must pass a background check required to work with children.
• Clear verbal communication skills.
• Ability to ski or snowboard safely and confidently in all conditions and on varying terrain.
• Ability to work during peak times and in bad weather.

Responsibilities

• Instruct groups and individuals in a fun lesson format.
• Teach proper techniques appropriate to the ability level of each student.
• Promote safety and equip students with the knowledge to ski or ride safely on their own after lessons.
• Participate in clinics and free skiing to continually improve personal skiing skills.
• Attend PSIA and AASI clinics and take appropriate exams on an ongoing basis.
• Greet guests and direct them to the appropriate lesson locations.
• Provide helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional customer service.
• Treat each lesson recipient as an important individual.
• Perform alternate duties as needed, including duties outside the assigned department during peak periods.
