About The Position

The Ski & Snowboard School (S3) Host plays a vital role in creating a positive and seamless experience for families participating in children’s programs. With a friendly and proactive presence, this position welcomes guests, supports smooth check-in and check-out processes, and serves as a key link between parents and S3 staff. By providing clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and timely assistance, the Host helps ensure every family feels confident and cared for throughout their day.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 months of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or recreational setting preferred
  • Experience in guest service, hospitality, or outdoor recreation environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of children’s programs, outdoor recreation, or ski and snowboard school operations preferred
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems, including check-in and registration tools
  • Understanding of safety protocols related to children’s programs and ski area operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on positive guest interactions
  • Ability to speak clearly and professionally with children, families, and coworkers
  • Skilled at multitasking in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a plus
  • Ability to remain calm, supportive, and solution-oriented in guest-facing situations
  • Physically able to work outdoors in varying mountain weather conditions, including snow and cold temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Greet children and families upon arrival, creating a welcoming and positive first impression
  • Support S3 registration by assisting with check-in stations and guiding guests through the process
  • Direct families to appropriate meeting locations and provide clear information about the day’s schedule
  • Operate roster gates and assist with collecting accurate class rosters to support lesson organization
  • Support Ski and Snowboard Pros on the magic carpet by helping manage group flow and encouraging young guests
  • Engage and supervise children who are not actively skiing, providing age-appropriate indoor or outdoor activities
  • Assist with equipment rentals, including helping children with fitting and managing gear
  • Help coordinate lunch service by assisting with food orders, preparation, and distribution at children’s lodges
  • Provide comfort and care for sick or tired children indoors, keeping them safe and supported
  • Help locate children who become separated from their group or guardians, ensuring prompt and calm resolution
  • Assist with organizing race days, including set-up, support during events, and celebration of participants
  • Other duties as assigned
