About The Position

As a Boyne Mountain Ski Patroller, you're responsible for every guest on the slopes from the moment the lifts open to the moment the last rider comes down. This role requires you to be the eyes, the expertise, and the calm presence that makes Boyne Mountain a safe and welcoming place for everyone. It's a role that carries real weight and privilege, involving managing the mountain and making critical decisions in the field. Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Advanced or expert skier.
  • Current EMT, OEC, or equivalent certification.
  • American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR/AED training.
  • Available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the ski season.
  • Physically prepared for the demands of the role: able to ski, walk, and remain active for hours each day; hike with skis and a pack; lift up to 50 pounds; and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Calm under pressure, empathetic with guests, and committed to making every decision with safety first.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional first-aid experience or licensing.
  • Prior ski patrol experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety signage, identify and communicate skiing hazards, and promote a culture of safety across the mountain.
  • Provide first aid and emergency assistance to injured guests, transport patients as needed, and complete daily logs, accident forms, and required investigations.
  • Approach each day with professionalism, composure, and steady energy.
  • Lead by example on the mountain, sharing expertise and reinforcing safety standards with fellow patrollers and resort team members.
  • Patrol ski slopes to ensure the safety and well-being of every guest, monitoring for injured, reckless, or lost skiers and snowboarders, and responding quickly and effectively.
  • Enforce area policies where applicable, balancing authority with empathy and respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Mountain Experience leadership team.
