About The Position

This job posting is for a seasonal Ski Patrol Trainee position at Mammoth Mountain for the 2026-2027 winter season. The role involves providing first aid in both clinical and on-slope environments, implementing mountain safety practices, and performing avalanche mitigation techniques based on experience and skill level. Patrollers are expected to work as part of a team, follow directions, and demonstrate rational decision-making and conservative risk management practices. Applicants must possess advanced to expert alpine skiing ability and be at least 21 years of age. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and completion of the Ski Patroller Training course. Continued employment is also contingent upon successful completion of this training. Non-US citizens require previous professional patrol experience and strong references to be considered. Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to obtain or currently possess one of the following first aid certifications: Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Outdoor Emergency Care, or Wilderness First Responder (must meet minimum standards of the WMEC)
  • Current CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer
  • Advanced to expert level alpine skiing ability
  • Successful completion of a background investigation
  • Successful completion of the Ski Patroller Training course
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Non-US citizen applicants must have previous professional Patrol experience and strong references
