About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with preparing terrain for the upcoming ski season. This role involves bootpacking, ski packing, and other trail maintenance tasks, primarily in closed avalanche terrain alongside the ski patrol team. Volunteers will contribute to creating a safe and memorable experience for guests. This is a volunteer position with a commitment of seven 8-hour days, which earns the volunteer a season pass.

Requirements

  • Advanced or expert skiing skills (skiers only)
  • Good physical condition and able to volunteer in a cold alpine environment on steep double-black diamond terrain wearing ski boots in mixed snow surfaces.
  • Must sign volunteer paperwork prior to completing any volunteering.
  • Must be able to follow all volunteer policies as described in the handbook.
  • Must provide all necessary personal clothing and equipment to do the volunteer position efficiently.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Must have an avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe as well as releasable ski bindings.
  • Must have sufficient time to complete a 7 day obligation in 2 months.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
