About The Position

The SRS Special Programs Lead is responsible for assuring the success of all our special program lessons, including Mtn Kids, SOS Outreach, Boys and Girls Club and others. Weekly schedule includes a mix of teaching lessons, office administration work, and on-snow facilitating special program lessons. The Special Programs Lead will communicate on a regular basis with location assistant manager and managers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working in a ski and snowboard school.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and guest-service skills.
• Basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, web-based applications, scheduling tools, and handheld radios.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate fluently and professionally in spoken and written English.
• Availability to work weekends and all holiday peak days.
• Ability to work outdoors in winter weather and a high-alpine environment.
• At least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory experience.
• PSIA/AASI certification
• Familiarity with Vail Resorts computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with special program organization contacts the scheduling and details of each special program.
• Working with admin and assistant manager team to schedule staff.
• Teaching lessons.
• Leading instructor morning meetings and communicating daily safety messages.
• Assigning lessons using the priority system.
• Communicate professionally with fellow employees and guests, resolve routine concerns, and coordinate guest recovery when service does not meet expectations.
• Promote workplace safety, conduct required safety meetings, and report employee injuries, guest incidents, hazards, and near misses.
• Provide timely feedback to employees.
• Work with training team to coordinate special program-specific trainings and facilitate end of day debriefs with instructors.
• Other duties as assigned.
