About The Position

Lakeville Arenas is accepting applications for Skating Instructors. This position ensures a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth. This would include providing instruction in a variety of skate lesson levels and ages. Work Schedule: Evenings and Weekends, up to 10 hours per week.

Requirements

• Have experience in and knowledge of figure skating and learn to skate programming.
• Be present at more than 75% of scheduled Learn to Skate ice sessions.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, thus enabling him/her to work with customers, other coaches, skaters, and parents.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
• Ability to work a variety of hours which may include holidays, evenings and weekends.
• Must have passed the skating level that you are assigned to instruct.
• Knowledge of all levels and facets of the United States Figure Skating (USFS), Ice Skating Institute (ISI), and Learn to Skate USA curriculum.
• Must be able to demonstrate all skills in the level that you would be assigned to teach.
• Detail oriented.
• Self-motivated.
• Work independently.
• Reliable.
• Able to work weekend hours.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Learn to Skate instructor coaching experience preferred.
• PSA, USFSA, LTS USA and/or ISA membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth.
• Provide instruction in a variety of skate lesson levels and ages.
• Monitor the well-being of all participants throughout skate lessons.
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.
• Establish open and active communication with skating director, coaches, skating participants, parents and arenas staff.
• Ensure program instruction is taught in accordance to the Learn to Skate USA progression program.
