•$62,100 - $124,500

About The Position

National General is part of The Allstate Corporation and offers home, auto, accident and health insurance, and other specialty insurance products through independent agents and directly to consumers. The SIU Field Investigator investigates and analyzes complex, multi-discipline coverage and claims referred to the Special Investigation Unit because of potential fraud. The role handles complex attorney-represented and unrepresented claims, as well as moderate-to-complex losses involving suspicious activity. Investigations may include background searches, scene investigations, clinic inspections, recorded statements, review of medical notes and bills and property damage, witness interviews, social media searches, surveillance, and scene reconstruction. The investigator assesses whether fraud can be substantiated and supports litigation where appropriate. The role also provides work guidance, mentoring, and coaching to less senior employees, though it has no supervisory duties. This experienced investigator role conducts complex fraud investigations across Auto, Homeowners, and Specialty Lines. It is field-based and supports a territory within approximately a three-hour radius of Chicago, Illinois. Prior investigative experience is required; SIU experience and a record of identifying, investigating, and resolving suspicious claims are strongly preferred. Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments before onboarding and may not hold outside appointments during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who hold a resident producer license must surrender it when instructed by the licensing team. Base annual compensation varies by level: Special Investigative Unit Consultant II, $62,100–$105,300; Special Investigative Unit Sr Consultant I, $68,500–$117,700; and Special Investigative Unit Sr Consultant II, $70,100–$124,500. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications and may include incentive pay where applicable.
