About The Position

The Sitter - Float Pool position is a full-time role with night shifts (7p-7a, 12-hour shifts) at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME. Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people in central, western, and Midcoastal Maine. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital, Rumford Hospital, Central Maine Medical Group, Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern Maine base, and the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Sitter's primary responsibility is to sit with and observe patients and their environment to ensure safety and prevent injuries. They assist the Registered Nurse with non-nursing tasks within their scope of training and experience.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains responsibility to sit with and observe the patient and his/her surrounding environment to promote safety and prevent possible injuries.
• The One to One Patient Observer assists the Registered Nurse in non-nursing tasks within the scope of training and experience.
