About The Position

Southwood Building Systems, Inc. is seeking a high energy individual to join our team as a Site Utility Foreman to oversee ground-up commercial site development. The focus is on underground infrastructure, wet utilities, and municipal specifications.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with deep trenching, water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm drainage.
• Knowledge of VDOT/Local municipal specifications
• Ability to address and resolve complex technical and logistical issues
• Strong commitment to maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations
• May require specific certifications related to underground utility work and safety

Responsibilities

• Leading pipe laying crews
• Managing trench safety (OSHA Competent Person)
• Coordinating with management for labor and material accuracy
• Scheduling with on-site management
• Managing the use and maintenance of specialized equipment and tools, ensuring they are available and in good working condition
• Train crew members on best practices, safety procedures and technical skills specific to underground utility work
• Monitors work quality to ensure it meets industry standards and project specifications
• Maintains detailed records of work performed, materials used and project progress
• Act as a liaison between field crews, and management, ensuring clear and effective communication
