About The Position

The Site Technician will be responsible for operating an epoxy mix station. Based on department shift station demand, they will mechanically measure and dispense precise mix ratios of two or more epoxy part kits. Each mixed pot container will be properly labeled with safety, time expiration, and mix ratio information. The role involves learning to be proficient in operating the mix station, understanding demand, ensuring accurate mixed ratios, and tracking/monitoring various aspects of the mixing process electronically. The technician will also retrieve unused or expired mixes, monitor mix station maintenance, provide technical support, interface with internal customers to create process efficiencies, identify cost-saving opportunities, perform analytical testing, make recommendations regarding material usage, and evaluate mechanical processes. They will also work with EHS Departments to ensure compliance, perform inventories, receive/monitor product deliveries, label secondary containers, and maintain clean Chemico controlled areas. Other duties and assignments as required.

Requirements

  • High school /GED required
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required
  • Familiarity with other software applications
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team-fostered environment
  • Ability to work in multi-tasked environment
  • Strong personality and focus in fast-paced and demanding environments

Responsibilities

  • Operate epoxy mix station
  • Mechanically measure and dispense precise mix ratios of two or more epoxy part kits
  • Label each mixed pot container with safety, time expiration, and mix ratio information
  • Track and monitor (electronically) mix ratios, start and mix times, issued out quantities and frequency, expiration times, and kit volume inventories
  • Use FIFO method for kit inventories
  • Mix demands by department and stations to track trends and prepare forecasts
  • Retrieve unused or expired pot mixed from point-of-use stations
  • Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of the mix station
  • Provide technical support including preventive maintenance, problem identification and resolution, and maximization of material use
  • Interface with internal customers, working on-site to create process efficiencies
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and set goals for achievement
  • Perform analytical testing on materials
  • Make recommendations regarding material usage, concentrations, recycling, product substitutions/selection etc.
  • Evaluate mechanical processes in relation to utilization of materials
  • Understand customers’ material use in manufacturing processes and provide appropriate recommendations for coolants, lubricants, cleaners, and other applicable materials
  • Work with EHS Departments to ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards
  • Perform hard count inventories as required
  • Receive / monitor product deliveries and submit proper paperwork as required
  • Label all secondary containers with appropriate GHS label
  • Work with customers to ensure all Chemico controlled areas are kept clean
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required
