About The Position

The Site Supervisor for Walden Security manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities of all assigned Security Officers and executes all tasks related to maintaining prescribed standards in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures. This role provides the first line of supervision when an Operations Staff member is not on duty. The supervisor works as an armed, uniformed officer and is able to legally carry a firearm in applicable states and/or locations. They possess a working knowledge of Specific and General Post instructions for all Branch posts and practical knowledge of additional and emergency post instructions required by the client. The supervisor patrols assigned posts and accounts using a company-provided vehicle, has the authority to make decisions in compliance with Walden policies, and can relieve any security officer in violation of Walden rules/regulations/procedures. This role involves shift supervision of all posts and security officers, including Roving patrols, by randomly visiting posts/accounts and performing inspections. The supervisor conducts inspections of posts and Security Officers for proper compliance with Post Orders, Walden procedures, and general post assignment knowledge. They also assist in conducting on-the-job training for new security officers, respond to building/facility, bank, and ATM alarms, and address urgent client needs or service changes. The supervisor is responsible for informing management of critical issues and recording daily events on the Daily Inspection Report (DIR). They will also fill open posts during their shift with off-duty officers or work the shift themselves if a qualified officer cannot be scheduled. Duties include examining doors, windows, and gates for security, warning violators of rule infractions, and registering at watch stations to record inspection times.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 25 years of age
  • Ability to pass criminal background check, motor vehicle registration check, and drug test
  • At least 3 years of supervisory security experience
  • Ability to legally carry a firearm in applicable states and/or locations
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Specific and General Post instructions for all Branch posts
  • Practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the client

Responsibilities

  • Provides shift supervision of all posts and security officers, including Roving patrols.
  • Randomly visits posts/accounts and performs inspections of security officers manning the posts.
  • Conducts inspections of posts and Security Officers for proper compliance with Post Orders, Walden procedures, and general knowledge of post assignment.
  • Assists in conducting on-the-job training for newly assigned security officers.
  • Responds to building/facility and bank alarms upon request.
  • Responds to ATM alarms as required.
  • Responds to urgent client needs/requests for services or changes to services.
  • Informs the Field Manager or Operations Manager of matters/issues that cannot wait until the next workday.
  • Records the daily events of their post/shift on the Daily Inspection Report (DIR).
  • Fills any post that becomes open during their shift of duty with an off duty security officer.
  • Works the shift of any posts that cannot be filled, until such time as a post qualified security officer can be scheduled.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates of assigned posts to determine that they are secure.
  • Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
  • Expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips and contracted random inspections.
