About The Position

Berkeley College is seeking a Site Supervisor/Security Officer to join our team in New York City, NY. The Site Supervisor, Security Officer will be responsible for the professional operation, administration, and quality assurance of uniformed security services for Berkeley College. The Site Supervisor/Security Officer will maintain a professional demeanor while leading staff and aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests. Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Public Safety and Emergency Management, the candidate will be responsible for the professional operation, administration, and quality assurance of uniformed security services for Berkeley College. The Site Supervisor will lead security officers assigned to one or more posts at Berkeley College Campus. Acts to ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed and that adequate reports are filed. Be responsible for the enforcement of the college’s visitor policy. Monitor all campus cameras. Respond to campus emergencies and document incidents.

Requirements

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • Knowledge of regulations and laws pertaining to schools.
  • Knowledge of/familiarity with managing CCTV and card key systems.
  • Effective communication skills and experience.
  • Security/safety training and certification or equivalent required.
  • Prior law enforcement experience or Military experience and or 5 years of security supervisory experience, sufficient to meet the requirements of the assigned site, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as determined by the college.
  • Outlook, Ultipro, Surviellance Systems (WPK - IP Sentry, MDL, PAR, NWK, NYC43, WST - Truvision, NYC41 - Avigilon), S Drive, Security Reports (Lotus Notes), Sharepoint

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing a staff, strongly preferred.
  • CPR/AED First Aid Certification, preferred.
  • A knowledge of Fire Alarms, Life and Safety and other relevant Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff, including assigning work and providing training and discipline.
