About The Position

Tryfacta is seeking a Site Supervisor III for our client in Albuquerque, 87102. This is a temporary contract assignment. The role involves learning about all aspects of Life Support and Water Quality, working with and/or around a variety of aquatic animal species, and assisting with aquatic life support systems. Responsibilities also include testing and analysis of water quality, aquatic cleanup, and general maintenance around the facility (Tingley Beach, Aquarium, Zoo, and Botanic Gardens). The position requires a willingness to learn, comfort working alone and outdoors in variable weather, and a friendly, open personality. Candidates must be 18 years or older, physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, comfortable working in and around water in various environments, and pass a security background check. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, push, pull, read, write, and speak English.

Requirements

  • Some knowledge or background in maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, or related areas.
  • Basic knowledge of record keeping and documentation.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Be comfortable working alone
  • Have a friendly and open personality and enjoy working with a diverse cross section of individuals from a variety of departments at all levels of government and job positions

  • Comfortable working in and around water, in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments, on slippery or uneven surfaces, and may involve exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, heat, cold and/or inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Learning about all aspects of Life Support and Water Quality
  • Working with and/or around a variety of aquatic animal species including, koi, sharks, polar bears, penguins, elephants, hippos, alligators, and others
  • Assist with aquatic life support systems such as pumps, filters, valves, and any other related equipment
  • Testing and analysis of water quality
  • Aquatic clean up
  • General maintenance around the facility (Tingley Beach, Aquarium, Zoo, and Botanic Gardens)
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned
