About The Position

This is a Full Time, Mon-Fri position with a family-first approach. The company is a high-end, unique, residential remodel construction company that operates in the New Hampshire Seacoast, Southern Maine, and Northern Massachusetts. They focus on creative solutions and superior craftsmanship to enhance clients' lives and nurture employee success. The Site Superintendent is responsible for critical elements of construction management on assigned projects from pre-construction through completion. This role involves collaborating with the Project Manager, Vendors, and Trade Partners to manage schedules, terms, and expectations of work agreements. They will maintain timely and effective communication with Project Managers and Clients regarding jobsite matters. The position may include up to 50% "bags on" carpentry work. The company offers training in certain areas for motivated individuals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high end residential remodeling.
  • Degree in project management or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the life cycle of a remodeling project.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Residential remodeling experience including layout knowledge of foundations, framing, cabinets, interior finish packages, and working with subcontractors.
  • Ability to interact and communicate well with clients, team members, vendors, and specialty trade contractors.
  • In depth knowledge of construction principals and installation techniques.
  • Able to perform carpentry duties that include light framing and finish work – 50% of the time.
  • Computer skills include but are not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper construction site safety skills.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and state-required insurance.
  • Reliable, honest, and ethical as well as having the ability to manage with these core values is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional schooling within the construction field is highly desired.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in JobTread construction software but will consider working knowledge of other construction software like Procore, BuilderTrend, CoConstruct, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Produce completed remodeling projects on time and within budget.
  • Proactive problem-solving.
  • Maintain company standard and excellent quality workmanship.
  • Clear and regular communication with customers, supervisor, and staff.
  • Completion of all necessary production reporting as required.
  • Prompt attendance at all required staff and department meetings.
  • Aggressively resolve conflicts and issues promptly and effectively with a “win-win” mindset.
  • Ongoing development of improved systems and procedures.
  • Create a working environment that brings the best out in other employees and that uses time as efficiently as possible.
  • Be knowledgeable of all carpentry techniques related to residential construction and remodeling and/or be responsible for gaining knowledge in areas lacking.
  • Make minor modifications to actual construction design specifications in alignment with current design drawings and documents.
  • Purchase materials for projects in alignment with specifications, estimates and allowances as defined in the Oxland Builders Purchase Order Policy.
  • Direct Oxland Builders production department employees assigned to project your projects.
  • Make adjustments to the project schedule and daily work schedule to address delays, weather conditions, or other unforeseen issues to keep the project on track.
  • Make small adjustments to the project scope, WITHOUT A SIGNED CHANGE ORDER, due to unforeseen circumstances or items missed in estimating as long as these changes do not significantly affect the budget or overall project scope.
  • Enforce or update safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, especially if new hazards are identified.
