About The Position

An established luxury custom home builder serving Northeast and Central Florida is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Superintendent. Known for innovative designs, quality construction, and personalized customer service, the company works with motivated professionals and trusted trade partners who share its commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and client satisfaction. You will lead the field execution of approximately five to six custom homes at a time. Acting as the day-to-day owner of each jobsite, you will coordinate subcontractors, inspections, materials, schedules, safety, quality, and homeowner meetings from construction start through closing. This may also be an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential superintendent ready to take greater ownership of projects and advance into a project management-level role.

Requirements

  • At least three years of residential construction supervision or related field experience.
  • Custom home or high-end residential construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of residential building methods, sequencing, codes, inspections, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read architectural plans, specifications, scopes of work, and construction documents.
  • Experience scheduling and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and multiple active jobsites.
  • Strong field leadership, accountability, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional communication skills when working with clients, inspectors, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or comparable construction management software preferred.
  • High school diploma required; additional construction education is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between assigned jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned custom home projects from field start through final closing.
  • Develop and maintain active schedules and two-week construction look-ahead plans.
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, inspections, and site activities.
  • Review plans, scopes, selections, specifications, and approved changes before work begins.
  • Inspect work for compliance with plans, building codes, safety requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, secure, organized, and professional jobsites.
  • Prevent incomplete or unacceptable work from being covered by subsequent trades.
  • Meet with inspectors, address inspection items, and document results.
  • Identify delays, material shortages, trade conflicts, and quality concerns early.
  • Hold subcontractors and vendors accountable for scheduling, workmanship, and completion.
  • Maintain daily logs, site photographs, schedules, and project records in Buildertrend.
  • Coordinate homeowner meetings, pre-drywall walkthroughs, final walkthroughs, and punch-list completion.
  • Prepare homes for internal reviews, inspections, homeowner walkthroughs, and closing.
  • Help prevent recurring field defects and post-closing warranty issues.
