About The Position

Are you ready to take the lead on impactful, large-scale construction projects that shape communities and drive sustainability? As the Site Superintendent of Capital Projects, you’ll play a key leadership role reporting to the Manager of Capital Projects and will lead the delivery team with the Energy & Technical Services team based in Niagara Falls, ON. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Health & Safety, Environmental Performance, Sales, Marketing and Operations to deliver projects across a wide variety of business lines, touching a great number of construction disciplines. Our projects include; earthmoving and large-scale site works, commercial buildings, processing facilities as well as energy production from landfill gas, including electricity and renewable gas. You will also work collaboratively with Project Managers as we deliver infrastructure and operational facilities to the broader Walker Industries family of companies. Salary ranges from $90,000-$115,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • 2–3-year Degree or Diploma in construction related field or equivalent field experience.
  • 4-5 years experience in the Construction industry.
  • Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong knowledge across construction disciplines, including engineering, estimating, scheduling, contracting, and health & safety.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and personalities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction activities across waste management, renewable energy, organics processing, utilities, and civil works.
  • Supervise subcontractors, and operators to ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and company standards.
  • Coordinate site logistics, sequencing, and resource allocation for efficient execution.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Lead toolbox talks, hazard assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications, providing direction to crews and contractors.
  • Verify field conditions, quantities, measurements, and alignment.
  • Assist with RFIs, field changes, and drawing updates.
  • Support quality control to ensure materials and installations meet design standards.
  • Track production, labor, materials, and equipment; prepare regular reports.
  • Identify risks, delays, and scope changes, recommending corrective actions.
  • Review and validate timesheets, progress claims, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate site logs, inspection records, and as-built/redline drawings.
