About The Position

Ontic is a leading global aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. Ontic’s Creedmoor, NC, site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Metro Merlin, Twin Commander, and Firstmark. With over 1,500 employees across four time zones and seven sites, Ontic has more than doubled in size since 2019 and is continuing to grow at pace. The team is looking for a Site Sourcing Lead to join them. This role reports to the Supplier Performance Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, North Carolina. The Site Sourcing Lead will be responsible for driving supplier rationalization, providing operational oversight to improve price, quality, supply, and delivery of products, identifying savings opportunities, and managing the supplier onboarding process. The position also involves technical prowess in managing sourcing changes with cross-functional teams, partnering with stakeholders for performance and relationship management, executing critical site-specific supplier agreements, and staying informed on market trends and innovative technologies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and a minimum 5 years’ experience in highly regulated industry or Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrate familiarity with FAR/DFAR and ITAR
  • Demonstrate understanding of supply chain, manufacturing practices, operations/planning/logistics, quality and contracts
  • Demonstrate ability to drive product implementation and strategy
  • Demonstrate high level of attention to detail and urgency
  • Experience in buying and sourcing direct and/or indirect material
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and co-workers in a pressured environment
  • Proficient with computers and automated process and systems
  • Self Starter and team player
  • Travel (up to 30%)

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier rationalization.
  • Provide sourcing and operational oversight to drive price, quality, supply / delivery improvements of products for the site.
  • Interface and correspond with suppliers, executing sourcing/evaluation strategies, pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Working with Buyers, identify savings opportunities, develop implementation plan, and ensure capture.
  • Identify alternate sourcing opportunities.
  • Visit suppliers, perform business reviews, assess and adjust fit.
  • Manage suppplier on-boarding process.
  • Work with PMO to support on-boarding suppliers associated with new product lines.
  • Drive price, quality, supply / delivery improvements of products at the site.
  • Drive supplier performance and ensure accurate reporting of sourcing KPIs for the site.
  • Provide monthly status updates on projects including associated financials.
  • Provide sourcing and operational oversight.
  • Identify savings opportunities and initiate process improvements.
  • Lead the effort to operationalize a comprehensive process for sourcing, specification changes, manufacturing process changes, pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Interface and correspond with suppliers, developing sourcing/evaluation strategies.
  • Visit and assess suppliers both domestic and international.
  • Ability to navigate new cultures with integrity and respect in support of building relationships.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of sourcing key performance measures for the site (best cost, OTD performance, quality, design conformity, small business / minority owned, etc.).
  • Provides monthly status updates on completed, in process and scheduled activities with associated financials.
  • Identify alternate sourcing opportunities.
  • Develop a pipeline of projects that drive operational efficiency and cost savings for implementation.
  • Execute and report progress on priority projects identified by management.
  • Ensure engagement and management of sourcing changes with cross functional teams by understanding their business needs and how it can be fulfilled from the marketplace, as well as, providing accountability for their alignment.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality and Operations key stakeholders to develop a robust performance and relationship management program by facilitating supplier interactions with cost / quality improvements.
  • Ensure relevant stakeholders are informed of decisions, action plan and timing.
  • Execute critical site-specific supplier agreements.
  • Responsible for spotting market trends and innovative technologies to educate key stakeholders on industry leading practices, R&D suppliers, procurement solutions, and predictive pricing models.
  • Drive the decision-making process & action planning for each activity driving efficiencies and cost reduction / savings opportunities.
