About The Position

The Site Security Specialist (Northeast) is a highly proactive, organized, and self-started security professional responsible for bringing corporate sites across Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH) into strict alignment with global security policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Reporting directly into the US Security & Workplace Solutions team—with a dotted line to Massachusetts Site Leadership and local area management—the Specialist oversees regional risk mitigation, security technology infrastructure, guard force management, crisis management and security investigations. This role requires exceptional technical acumen, sound judgment, and the discretion to manage highly sensitive corporate matters.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent).
  • 2–4 years of progressive corporate security management experience, ideally operating within a manufacturing, corporate headquarters, or highly regulated pharmaceutical/industrial environment.
  • 5+ years of security experience in a similar highly regulated industry may be substituted for Education or Professional Certification requirements.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver results while operating remotely from a direct supervisor.
  • Highly effective at building cross-functional relationships with senior site management, industry peers, and regional security vendors.
  • Active in maintaining an external network with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Action-oriented with a strong commitment to self-development and professional ambition, balanced with healthy work-life integration.
  • Clearly articulates succinct messages to all audiences in all forms. Uses strong communication skills to influence and negotiate.
  • Ability to set and articulate long-term (3–5 year) security program goals that align with corporate management targets.
  • Well-organized planner capable of prioritizing competing deadlines.
  • Skilled in vendor management, contract optimization, and the creation/management of operational budgets, including preparing and submitting capital expenditure requests (POMs).

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Active CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or APP (Associate Protection Professional) designation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with site facilities management to develop, execute, and maintain three foundational security risk documents and programs: Site Security Surveys, Site Security Risk Assessments, and Security Risk Reduction Implementation Plans.
  • Provide indirect supervisory oversight for contract guard force operations, assist with managing vendor contracts, and ensure officers operate from up-to-date, written post orders.
  • Establish routine security training programs for employees, vendors, contractors, and visitors, and deploy security bulletins, notices, and advisories.
  • Plan and execute physical penetration exercises to test countermeasure effectiveness and coordinate and lead joint training initiatives and crisis drills with local emergency responders and law enforcement.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert to understand, design, and troubleshoot localized security systems, including CCTV, X-ray machinery, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), communications (phones, radios), and Emergency Notification Systems (ENS).
  • Design and implement a proactive preventative maintenance program with technology vendors and hold recurring operational reviews.
  • Facilitate, conduct, or oversee formal investigations into security incidents and corporate allegations, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain processes for securing evidence at incident scenes and promote an environment of transparent reporting.
  • Study localized security incident trends and historical records to detect patterns of loss, identify emerging vulnerabilities, and establish robust corrective actions post-incident.
  • Act as the security project lead for the major Massachusetts Facility Expansion Project, driving security design and system integration, overseeing guard houses, specifying access control layouts, and managing the scaling of the physical guard force provider.
