About The Position

RIGHTECH is a leading nationwide provider of technical staffing services, and we are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Site Safety Coordinator in Ft. Wayne, IN starting September. This role involves ensuring safety protocols are followed on construction sites or in active data centers. The coordinator will conduct safety walks, lead safety training, document hazards, and support incident investigations. The work environment can be demanding, requiring constant PPE use, extended periods of standing/walking, and potentially limited workspace. Hours may vary based on site needs, and transportation to various sites may be necessary.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in a safety role involving construction/data centers or adjacent industries.
  • OSHA 10 but will have OSHA 30 before starting work
  • Training in confined space, first aid/CPR, and mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) experience with training.
  • Laptop to complete daily and weekly reporting with Microsoft office installed.
  • Transportation to get to sites that might be in the same general area but within driving distance.
  • Minimum Type 2 Class E hard had
  • Composite safety footwear with puncture and slip resistance
  • Company Logo-ANSI Class 2 reflective safety vest
  • Minimum NRR 24 hearing protection (ear plugs or earmuffs). Earmuffs are recommended for long-term needs.
  • ANSI Z87.1+ approved safety glasses
  • Cut resistant gloves either A4 or A5 (with impact rating). Check with site contact to ensure correct safety glove protection

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual for Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 510
  • Working on safety credential like CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or STS (Safety Trained Supervisor)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a minimum of (2) daily safety walks per building to monitor work practices, PPE usage, and potential hazards. Inspections documented in Microsoft Forms.
  • Lead daily Stretch and Flex sessions and review required safety documentation (AHA/JHA/PTP/TBT).
  • Engage with crews to discuss safety concerns, provide coaching, and encourage open communication.
  • Identify and document hazards, incidents, and near-misses; submit daily notes/logs to site leadership.
  • Support investigation of incidents and assist in tracking corrective actions.
  • Help maintain site-level emergency response readiness and conduct drills as needed.
  • Monitor contractor/vendor safety practices and report concerns.
  • Conduct MEWP and Fall Protection training.
  • Conduct training for new or existing PPE requirements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and safety activities.
  • Implements Company safety program on assigned site(s)
  • Communicate any employee relations issues to Company human resources
  • Communicate Safety Related Issues to the site Foreman and inform senior safety manager
  • Communicate Customer Escalations to the site Foreman, inform/escalate to senior safety manager
  • Company employees will inform PM/Program Manager, and they will handle correspondence with customer.
