About The Position

The Mission Support Group is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) / Quality Control Manager (QCM) to support projects across four business sectors. This is a multi-year, multi contract environment with projects typically scheduled to last up to five (5) years or more in duration. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable safety, quality control, and contractual requirements while supporting successful project execution in federal and commercial construction environments. The SSHO/QCM supports several government agencies and reports to the Director Level.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of construction related safety experience or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of Quality Control Management experience on federal projects or equivalent projects if not federal projects
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification - current
  • EM 385-1-1 Training Certification - current
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government installation access/security clearance
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professionalism in a federal construction environment
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and military installations
  • Compliance with all company, federal, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Ability to maintain accurate project documentation and reporting requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification preferred
  • Experience with RMS and/or eCMS preferred
  • NAVFAC/USACE CQM Certification preferred (CQM-C)
  • USACE and/or NAVFAC project experience
  • Federal Design-Build project experience
  • Modular construction and integration experience
  • No major EM 385 violations
  • No government-issued stop-work orders resulting from safety non-compliance

Responsibilities

  • When necessary or required attend pre-work, preparatory, and project coordination meetings
  • Develop and maintain activity-specific Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Ensure implementation and enforcement of the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and AHAs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, EM 385-1-1 standards, and contractual quality requirements
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled site safety and quality inspections
  • Prepare and oversee inspection report processes and project documentation submissions
  • Coordinate response efforts for on-site emergencies
  • Review and interpret task order specifications and contract requirements
  • Manage/oversee organizational level project submittals, schedules, RFIs, AHAs, and QC documentation
