About The Position

Radiant Digital is seeking a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Architect with extensive expertise in telecommunications OSS/BSS and Mainframe environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting complex systems to ensure large-scale business and network operations are reliable and efficient. The architect will leverage SRE principles to manage service levels, drive continuous improvement, and lead transformation initiatives. This position requires a deep understanding of IBM Mainframe z/OS and midrange platforms, Telcordia OSS applications, and end-to-end telecommunications business processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading incident management, driving automation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver highly reliable, business-critical technology solutions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT and telecommunications environments.
  • Extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting complex OSS/BSS ecosystems.
  • 8+ years of hands-on architecture experience across IBM Mainframe z/OS and midrange platforms (Linux/Solaris).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles (SLOs, SLIs, Error Budgets, reliability governance, continuous service improvement).
  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of Telcordia OSS applications (SWITCH, TIRKS, FACS, WFA, SOAC).
  • Proven ability to design and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant, resilient, and disaster recovery architectures.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with IBM Mainframe technologies (z/OS internals, JCL, IMS, VSAM, DB2, CICS, system utilities, workload management, performance tuning, production diagnostics).
  • Extensive experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions (Splunk, Dynatrace, Instana, IBM NetCool, Grafana, AppDynamics).
  • Proven success in driving automation, self-healing capabilities, infrastructure as code, CI/CD reliability practices, and DevOps/SRE transformation.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end telecommunications business processes (service provisioning, inventory management, order management, activation, network fulfillment, service assurance, lifecycle management).
  • Extensive experience leading major incident management, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and problem management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Strong track record of mentoring technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support complex OSS/BSS ecosystems for large-scale business and network operations.
  • Architect solutions across IBM Mainframe z/OS and midrange platforms (Linux/Solaris) for scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Error Budgets, and reliability governance.
  • Integrate and optimize Telcordia OSS applications (SWITCH, TIRKS, FACS, WFA, SOAC).
  • Design and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant, resilient, and disaster recovery architectures.
  • Implement observability and monitoring solutions using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Instana, IBM NetCool, Grafana, and AppDynamics.
  • Drive automation, self-healing capabilities, infrastructure as code, CI/CD reliability practices, and DevOps/SRE transformation.
  • Lead major incident management, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and problem management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Development, Operations, Network Engineering, business stakeholders) to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Mentor technical teams and drive reliability engineering best practices.
