Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
About The Position
Devexperts is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a team that develops and supports major trading platforms. The role involves ensuring market access for end-users globally, maintaining system availability, automating release and deployment processes, and implementing seamless monitoring and alerting for all solutions. The SRE will collaborate with developers on infrastructure design, deploy and configure trading/finance software, manage bare metal instances using Infrastructure as Code, build CI/CD pipelines, and make critical decisions regarding scalability, reliability, and accessibility. Responsibilities also include installing and managing monitoring systems, designing and deploying cloud-based servers and networks, administering UNIX infrastructure, and working with Nexus and GIT repositories.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the field.
- Experience as an SRE or DevOps.
- Strong experience with OS-level administration on Linux and/or UNIX.
- IAAS solutions using Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Experience with Docker containers orchestrating (OpenShift/Hashicorp).
- Know how to read and analyze errors.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and ISO/OSI stack.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Zabbix, Elasticsearch or Opensearch, Grafana, Kibana, etc).
- Experience in working with Apache, Nginx, HAproxy, Envoy, etc.
- Administration of UNIX infrastructure – installation, configuration and maintenance.
- Configuring instances by using Infrastructure as Code.
- English level not lower than B2.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with support of JVM application (garbage collection, memory leaks).
- Experience with software development.
- Hands-on scripting experience with Bash, Python, and/or Groovy.
- Experience with configuring TeamCity CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong ability to solve problems using code and scripting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain availability of trading platforms.
- Automate release/deploy process.
- Implement seamless monitoring and alerting.
- Work closely with developers for prototyping and designing new features as part of the infrastructure.
- Deploy, install, configure, and maintain sophisticated Trading/Finance and related software.
- Configure bare metal instances by using Infrastructure as Code.
- Build & maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Make key decisions for scalability, reliability, and accessibility.
- Install and manage in-house developed and external well-known monitoring systems.
- Design, deploy, and configure cloud-based servers and networks (provision servers and storage, configure firewalls, VPN, monitoring, etc.).
- Administrate UNIX infrastructure – installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Work with Nexus and GIT repositories.
