Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
About The Position
Our client is an early-stage industrial software company building an AI-driven production orchestration platform for aerospace, defense, and advanced-manufacturing customers. The company has raised approximately $11M, is preparing for a Series A, employs roughly 30 people, and works with high-profile manufacturers including leaders in space and defense. You will be the first dedicated Site Reliability Engineer and own critical infrastructure end to end. This is a greenfield opportunity to architect the path from AWS to on-premises and air-gapped deployments, support customer-specific cloud environments, and improve observability and delivery systems across the platform.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps, including containerization.
- End-to-end infrastructure ownership at a startup or small team.
- Hands-on AWS, GCP, or Azure experience.
- US citizenship or permanent residency.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with on-premises, hybrid cloud, restricted, or regulated deployments.
- Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Terragrunt, OpenTofu, CI/CD, GitOps, networking, and observability tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and operate cloud and on-premises infrastructure as the sole SRE.
- Architect migrations from AWS into on-premises and air-gapped environments.
- Support customer-specific cloud environments.
- Improve observability and delivery systems across the platform.
