Site Reliability Engineer I
About The Position
Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) at Indeed work closely with product teams to design, code, test, run, and evolve the systems that help people around the world get jobs. We collaborate with dozens of Indeed teams to drive the adoption of modern reliability practices like Service Level Objectives, error budget policies, actionable alerting, production on-call support, incident management/retrospective, and robust guardrails for AI-driven workflows. In this role you’ll partner closely with other members of SRE, software engineers, and product managers to balance feature velocity with system reliability. You’ll proactively identify opportunities to improve resilience, reliability, observability, efficiency, and operational excellence. You’ll explore automation and emerging technologies such as generative AI and agentic developerment/engineering to reduce manual effort and improve quality at scale by automation routine tasks and driving the adoption of modern reliability practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- Familiarity with AWS, Java, Kotlin, and/or React.js
- Passion to learn and develop new skills continuously
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain features for a suite of shared services and tools.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver well-designed solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and best practices in software engineering.
