About The Position

Serves as a Y-12, Site Outage Planning Supervisor serving multi-craft Maintenance Center. Responsible for the daily execution of integrated work control and planning activities in the process to deliver nuclear structures, systems and component maintenance work order packages per conduct of operations in nuclear facilities, established procedures, and precepts of Integrated Safety Management. Ensure accuracy in the interpretation of drawings and designs to meet site conditions, manage those that are responsible for correcting technical issues, monitor technical submittments and configuration management. Accountable for reviewing and approving planner prepared work packages prepared by Planners for craftsman, technicians, operators, and support organizations executing high hazard and/or nuclear work control strategies. Ensure direct reports perform field walk downs with all internal & external support to accurately identify scopes, analyze hazards, and prepare technically accurate work control documents. Work closely with support organizations to ensure successful completion of current and future mission deliverables for optimum maintenance craft utilization and schedule adherence. Ensure Work Control personnel are trained/qualified to perform assigned duties for high hazard nuclear conditions. Be responsible for providing direction on organizational goals and procedures for the predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of asset management and work control process for the Y-12 site. Candidate must possess outstanding people skills, with the ability to energize, organize, coordinate, and lead groups in support of Site Outage Planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or thirteen or more years of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator.
  • Must be able to receive and perform assignments from written instructions, elementary or detailed blueprints, manufacturer's instructions, or oral instruction.
  • Must be able to perform at the strenuous physical level required of this classification.
  • Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
  • May require entry into Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712).
  • May be categorized as a “designated position” identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709.
  • Must pass a pre-placement physical, drug screening and background investigation.
  • May be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy.
  • U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants.
  • Subject to being randomly selected for drug testing without advance notification.
